The Diwald family have been making wine since before I was born & they’ve gotten pretty bloody good at it to be fair. Their champion Riesling vineyard, the Goldberg, produces prize berries like no other in the area
These fruity little gems are fermented on skins in open top fermenters before 1 light pressing & ageing for 12 months in used 225l barriques. There is little character influence from the oak as it’s used simply for oxygenation but there’s a stunning textural impact from the 10-14 days of skin contact goodness. Bright, textured & lively with notes of bitter citrus, hay & herbs…this baby is eye rollingly moreish. Zundstoff translates literally to ‘dynamite’ & I couldn’t have put it better myself.
