Xarel-lo 1954 ‘17, Costa D’Or Terroirs Mediterrani, Metamorphika, Spain


These wise old vines were planted in 1954- hence the name! Once abandoned & producing teeny yields of only 100g of fruit, after much care & cultivation they now carry 10 times that amount, enough for a vinification adventure! Whole bunches are direct pressed & fermented in stainless steel to retain freshness before ageing in old French oak & foudre for 8 months. Mineral, viscous & saline I just cant get enough of this crisp deliciousness.
