Sumoll Blanc Brisat ‘18, Costa D’Or Terroirs Mediterrani, Metamorphika, Spain
This Tarragona native varietal ripens later than in other parts of Cataluna. Yet still it’s harvested a little earlier than perhaps Joan would like, given the hungry roaming boars foraging for their grape brekky. Whole berries are de-stemmed and fermented in amphora for 6 weeks before ageing in old French oak for 5 months before bottling. The low winter temperatures natural filtrate the wines and this elegant skin contact is an apricot, orange peel, stone fruit bottle of awesome. I reflexively sip this too damn hard.
