Macabeu Brisat ‘19, Costa D’Or Terroirs Mediterrani, Metamorphika, Spain
£25.00
This wine begins it’s transformation in clay & finishes it’s journey in clay, hence the gorgeous, traditional bottle choice. Brisat is the Catalan term for ‘orange wine’, otherwise referred to as skin contact, & these particular grapes are from the 60 year old Comadellops vineyard- meaning ‘inhabited by wolves’. Fermentation takes place in amphorae’s: 50% pressed & 50% whole bunch for 6 weeks before ageing in used oak for 5 months. This winemaking method is a dying art so be transported on a textural, mineral journey back in time with this beautiful living wine as your guide…Get down with bright, fresh aromatics & perfectly balanced savoury/citrus/mineral vibes.
