VITICULTURE + VINIFICATION
Fruit for this Tempranillo came from clone 700 grown at 750m above sea level, within a vineyard composed of stiff slopes of red laterite soil. The conditions provided good balanced growth of the vines and lush ripeness with the hot temperatures at the end of the growing cycle in 2019 creating concentrated red berry fruit characteristics within the wine.
Grapes were hand harvested and destemmed before partial crushing where the free run juice was inoculated with Laffort F-83 yeast Cap management was performed with delicate pump over, some punch down and rack and return. No fining was done and filtration was through 0.8 Microns. Wines were transferred into a mix of one and two year old American and French oak for a year before bottling.
Dark ruby-red in colour, with aromas of Coconut, Vanilla, Chocolate & Raspberry. A medium-bodied wine with concentrated warm, ripe red fruit flavours like Raspberry, Strawberry & Plum. Well balanced with round tannins and a soft finish.
