This deep ruby-red hued wine shows notes of tobacco and plum on the nose. Subtle nuances of black olives, pepper and dark plum coupled with balanced acidity and soft tannins on the palate come together to make an elegant, not overpowering, wine. PRODUCER
Fratelli, meaning ‘brothers’ in Italian, refers to the uniting of three key families to represent the shared desire nurtured in their hearts: to create a product of truly international standard, made in India using centuries long Italian winemaking traditions. The house of Fratelli has steadily been gaining global recognition, with over 30 international awards within a few years of inception.

VITICULTURE + VINIFICATION
Fratelli was attracted towards Akluj (Solapur) due to its dry, mineral and organically poor soil, the end result of the erosion of mother rock mountains that have generated the Deccan Plateau. These particular grapes come from 2 vineyards: Plot A/B Motewadi and Plot A Garwarat 548m above sea level and are cultivated through VSP trellising.

The 2 vineyards ripen at different times and, after hand harvesting at 23 brix and destemming, the free run juice is fermented at 22-25° C in stainless steel tanks for 10- 15 days using native wild yeast. Cap management begins with regular pump over and evolves into simply wetting, to restrain the extraction of colour and tannin. The Cab Sauv from each vineyard is fermented separately then aged in stainless steel for 6 months before blending at around 50/50 with final ageing in bottle.
